Swimming lessons getting boring? Want to try something different that's CHALLENGING, FUN and EXCITING? Yeah? Then one of these activities is for you!
"Hurricanes" - is a weekly one-hour class specially for young swimmers looking for excitement instead of traditional swimming lessons. The "Hurricanes" course is based on 5 activities: Mini water polo, Diving, Lifesaving, Galas and Snorkelling. You'll learn these new skills whilst improving your strokes and building strength and stamina.
The target? To have FUN, meet new FRIENDS, get MORE from your sport! (Hurricanes will really suit if you're still at primary school and can swim around 200m in 2 or 3 different strokes).
"Water Polo" is a fast, fun game involving stamina and strength. Participants need to be able to swim 400m. Coached sessions for juniors and adults are available at the Hydro:
Juniors:
Saturday 8.30 pm, 10.00 pm and
Sunday 7.30 pm, 8.30 pm
Adults:
Friday 8.30 pm, 9.30 pm
"Rookie Lifeguard" is the Royal Life Saving Society course especially designed for young swimmers. You'll learn all about personal safety skills, rescue and basic lifesaving skills, including resuscitation and first aid. Rookie is open to anyone who can easily tackle a 100 metre swim, and it can contribute towards your Duke of Edinburgh award.
"Snorkelling" - Make new friends of the scaly variety! Snorkelling's great fun and adds a whole new dimension to a dip in the sea! Look out for our courses, run mainly during school holiday periods.
