23 MAY 2007 BABIES,
toddlers and young children love to splash so if mums and dads
fancy keeping the bathroom floor dry for a change they should bring
them down to Starbeck Baths for this year's
Splashathon.
During the regular Aquababes sessions on 5 and 7 June,
Starbeck Baths will be taking part in the national Tommy's
Splashathon to raise funds for research into the causes of
miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
There is a tough target to meet as last year's event raised
£175,000.
There will be a lot of fun and prizes to be won and by being
sponsored to splash a width or two of the pool which is actually
quite small, comfortably heated and very child friendly money can
be raised for this year's appeal.
Each little splasher will get a free pair of HUGGIES® and
Little Swimmers® and after the event they will also get a
certificate to say they have taken part which will record the funds
they raised.
Parents/carers will need to register before getting into the
pool. The sessions will take place on 5 June
between 9.45 10.45 am and on
7 June between 10.00 10.45 am. Both
events are available for children aged five years and under.
