Let us know what you think about your polling station

10 AUGUST 2007: With over 116,000 electors and 130 polling stations covering the 500 square mile Harrogate District, Harrogate Borough Council regularly reviews its procedures to make sure polling in person is as easy as possible.

However, new Government regulations demand that all local authorities examine their polling facilities every four years.  As part of the council's response to those regulations, we would like to hear from electors regarding the suitability of their local polling station

There is a possibility that polling stations could be relocated as a result of feedback the council receives.

Mick Walsh, the Council's Chief Executive and Electoral Returning Officer, said:  "We are encouraging all electors to have a say.  We aim to locate all polling stations within a convenient distance from the majority of electors' homes.  We want to make sure they are easy to find and, where possible, fully accessible."

The consultation questionnaire is available over the council's website at www.harrogate.gov.uk/polling or by telephoning 01423 556011.  ENDS
