Assess The Health Of
Your Business
Business Link has developed an interactive tool that helps you
analyse key areas for your business's finance and administration
with the aim of avoiding failure.
It could help you work out whether your business could be in
trouble, and shows how external business advisers can help.
If you identify and tackle any problems early, you will
markedly increase the chances of your business surviving and being
a success.
This tool can only highlight where your business could
encounter difficulties. Its conclusions should be used as an
indicator only and should be discussed with professional business
advisers.

Enterprise In Food (EIF)
Enterprise In Food is a new specialist support programme,
aimed to help people involved in a food and drink business
understand the technical, health and safety and legal issues that
impact upon the sector. Upon completion, participants will have a
better understanding of the requirements for entering and
succeeding within the sector.
The EIF programme consists of a series of 8 modules. The
session will be delivered by a range of regional food support
agencies and food industry experts.
The course is currently being evaluated for accreditation as
an NVQ level 2 equivalent by Doncaster College.
The scheme also acts as an excellent opportunity to meet, and
receive inspiration from experienced food business owners and to
have access to wider regional food networks.
Additionally, one-to-one meetings can be arranged with a
business adviser- as many, or as few, as it takes towards the
achievement of a safe, legal, thorough and meaningful business
plan.
Greener Business
Business Link York and North Yorkshire is working together
with dedicated environmental support agencies such as Envirowise,
The Carbon Trust and The Business Environmental Forum to help focus
the business support available on environmental issues.
As part of this process Business Link is offering a no
cost Resource Efficiency Assessment to help businesses to identify
ways of becoming more resource efficient. To help Business Link do
this they have designed a simple questionnaire. Once completed and
returned, Business Link can help businesses to identify the actions
that they can take and help them to access the support and/or
information available.
