Yore Vision Projects
A number of project groups have been
established within Yore Vision, each working to
progress the key ideas. These include:
- the creation of a Centre of Rural Enterprise with associated workshops;
- an Arts/Business Forum, based in Aldborough, which will provide a mixed use venue incorporating a performing arts space, meeting/breakout space for small conferences, and development of adjacent Roman site and Museum;
- refurbishment and improvement of St James Square and Town Centre public realm works for the benefit of motorists and pedestrians;
- 'Improving the Offer' package including a property improvement grant scheme for commercial town centre properties and customer care courses;
- Youth facility / provision for the young people of Boroughbridge and the Lower Ure area;
- 'Ure Walks Through Time' - a project to develop a series of walks in and around Boroughbridge;
- support for Great Ouseburn Village Hall 'Raising the Roof' project.
Each of these projects will capitalise on the strengths and
opportunities offered by Boroughbridge and improve the town's
ability to boost its business and visitor economy and enhance the
quality of life for local communities.
