Conservation Grant Scheme

This grant scheme replaces the former Knaresborough and Ripon HERS and the District Environment Schemes. It covers the area of Harrogate District outside the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and relates to grants for the repair of Buildings at Risk (which will specifically be targeted); other Listed Building Repair Grants; Conservation Area Enhancement; and, Biodiversity and Landscape Enhancement.  Find out more about what types of building conservation and repair work are eligible for grant assistance, and get an application form in our Conservation Area Grants Introductory leaflet (1.55Mb). For conservation grants within the AONB go to: www.nidderdaleaonb.org.uk/nidderdale-235

Listed buildings and buildings (& trees) within Conservation Areas enjoy additional protection in planning terms.  Go to our Planning Application Forms page to get a 'Listed Buildings Consent Form', 'Conservation Area Consent Form' or a form for 'Notice of Intent to Carry Out Tree Work Within A Conservation Area'.
