Harrogate Lions schools' peace poster competition on display at Council Offices
Harrogate Lions Club of Lions Clubs' International is proud to
announce their sponsorship of the 2008/2009 International Peace
Poster Contest which has a theme of "Peace Begins with Me".
Three schools have agreed to participate and entries from
Harrogate Grammar School, Harrogate High School and Rossett School
will be displayed in the downstairs foyer of the Council Offices,
Crescent Gardens Harrogate from Monday 20 October to the Monday 27
October. Judging of the entries will take place
at 2pm on Friday 24 October. Harrogate Lions'
Vice President, Dawn Ramshaw, will be joined by the Cllr John and
Maggie Fox, Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Harrogate, to
decide on the winning entries from each school.
Members of the public are welcome to visit and view the
posters during the week they are on display.
A winning entry from each school will progress to the regional
stage of this prestigious international competition and the
eventual overall international winner will enjoy a trip to the
award ceremony on Lions Day at the United Nations in New York City
USA in March 2009.
