Housing landlords' forum celebrates 10th anniversary with a trade fair
28 October 2008: A housing landlord forum set up
10 years ago by Harrogate Borough Council is celebrating its
10th anniversary with a trade fair on 4
November.
The council created this forum as a way of helping landlords
and letting agents through the increasing impact of legislation on
such things as managing houses in multiple
occupation. It now covers such things as heating
and electrical safety, community safety and saving energy as well
as continuing to help landlords keep within the law.
Councillor Jean Butterfield, Cabinet Member for Housing, says
the forum is going from strength to strength.
She said: "Renting property has always been
popular and in today's world still provides a good source of
housing. Locally, landlords have welcomed the
help and support they can get through the forum, as well as having
the opportunity to meet others. Although many of
our established landlords and letting agents will be attending, I
would urge anyone thinking of renting out their property to join us
at this trade fair."
The free event is being held on Tuesday, 4 November 2008 at
the Ascot House Hotel, Kings Road, Harrogate between 11.00 am and
2.00 pm. Light refreshments will be
served.
Stands include: Corgi; Community Safety;
Trading Standards, Martin & Co (Letting Agents), New Rent Bond
Scheme; Net Rent; North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service;
Electrical Safety Council; Local Housing Allowance; AICO (wireless
smoke alarms); Energy Savings Trust, Energy Performance
Certificates. ENDS
