In October 2009, Harrogate Borough Council's Sports Development Team organised the first 'Have a Go' Programme, offering local adults and juniors the opportunity to try a new activity or sport for free and give them the chance to get back into physical activity.
The programme offered the opportunity to have a go at up to 20 activities and sports, and over 80 sessions throughout the month! From cycling to football, yoga to netball, badminton, tennis, karate and golf there really was something for everyone. The leaflets were available to download on our website, as well as being sent to schools and colleges and available to pick up in all of our leisure centres.
If you missed out on the programme, why not contact a club and try to arrange a trial for yourself? Our Sports Club Directory has the contact details of most of the clubs in the district, and clubs are always looking out for new members, and usually do their best to accommodate individual needs.
Further details will be posted following the evaluation in the next few weeks, and if the programme proved to be successful, we may run it again in the future; so if you are a club that wants to get involved but missed out this time, please contact:
