Preventing Council Tax Benefit Fraud
Help us prevent fraud and ensure tax payers money is spent
correctly.
Harrogate Borough Council is committed to preventing and
detecting benefit fraud and prosecuting offenders who target the
benefit schemes.
The council has a dedicated team of fraud officers who
thoroughly investigate suspected cases of benefit fraud. The
council's fraud Investigators and North Yorkshire Police work
actively, in partnership, to pursue serious offences through the
criminal courts.
If you suspect someone may be abusing the system you can
contact the team, in confidence by:
