7th July 2008
Harrogate Tourist Information Centre celebrated
the 150th Great Yorkshire Show this week, when they presented a
complimentary show ticket and a gift bag of Harrogate goodies to
the last customer to buy an advance ticket from the centre.
Mr & Mrs Howarth usually make a day trip to
visit the Show, but this year decided to stay for the week. Once
booked into their accommodation, they called in to the TIC to
purchase their tickets and were delighted to be told they were the
lucky recipients of free tickets to the show and a selection of
Harrogate souvenirs including a watercolour print and some locally
produced soap made with hand drawn water from Harrogate Spa.
Originally from Yorkshire, Mr & Mrs Howarth now live in
Northwich.
Harrogate Tourist Information Centre has sold
Great Yorkshire Show tickets since 2004. Tickets go on sale from
1st May each year and are available at the advance purchase
price.
Harrogate's Tourist Information Centre is
operated by Harrogate International Centre. There are four TIC's
across the district with further Centre's in Ripon, Pateley Bridge
and Knaresborough. One of the busiest TIC's in North Yorkshire,
Harrogate TIC experiences increased footfall during major local
events such as the Harrogate Flower Shows and the Great Yorkshire
Show.
