One of Harrogate Borough Council's unique heritage facilities, the Sun Pavilion located in the grade II listed Valley Gardens, already has an enviable reputation in the weddings market.

Set amidst the beauty and tranquillity of the historic Valley Gardens, the Sun Pavilion in the 1930`s became a most sought after venue for civic and private functions. After a sensitive refurbishment in 1998 it has enjoyed a renaissance as a hugely popular location for weddings, meetings and events of all kinds.

"The influence of a beautiful and peaceful environment upon the promotion of health and happiness has never been as obvious as now. The recognition of this fact bears testimony to the wisdom of the people of Harrogate ... to bring human gifts of design and adaption to bear upon natural beauty." (From Lord Horder`s opening address, 1933)

On the opening of the Sun Pavilion by Her Majesty The Queen, it marked the end of a year long refurbishment programme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Commission, which sensitively endowed the Sun Pavilion with all its former glory. With the exception of the new entrance on Cornwall Road, the Sun Pavilion is virtually indistinguishable from the original .. from the rich parquet of the dance floor to the splendid glass-domed roof, intricately worked with ornate, stained glass designs.
