Insurance Claims
The Council insures its properties; should one be badly damaged, the Council would claim on its insurance for the cost of repairing it.
However, the Council does not insure any of the contents that belong to the tenant. We strongly urge that every tenant should have contents insurance, available from a variety of companies. As always, the Council is happy to give advice on home contents insurance should you require it.
Council tenants may make insurance claims against the Council for any damage that the Council causes to their possessions when undertaking work at their property.
