Community Grants & Development
The Leisure Development Team provides a range of support and advice to voluntary sector groups, sports clubs, village halls and parish councils on potential funding streams and project planning schemes. The team is responsible for:
- Management of the council's Sports Development Team
- Voluntary Sector liaison for sports clubs capital schemes
- Capital Projects for all council Sport and Leisure Schemes
- Management and implementation of the Harrogate District Playing Pitch Strategy
- Development of the Harrogate District Sport and Leisure Facilities Strategy
- Linking with Lottery funding
- Help and advice to Community Groups (see project planning)
- Funding advice to Voluntary Sector Groups i.e. General, Funder Finder, E-newsletter
- Funding related training i.e. Awards for All, Project Development Workshops, Meet the Funder, Event Management
- Support and guidance to Village Halls including a Village Hall get together.
- Grant Administration i.e. Centenary Project, Starbeck Community Fund and Arts & Heritage Grants.
