Harrogate Borough Council

Councillors (Members of the Council)

What does a Councillor do?

Your ward councillor will help you to obtain information and advice, make a complaint, or enquire about local authority services.

Councillors have a duty to help you with any problems that you may have in your dealings with the council.  They provide a link between you, your local community and the council. They ensure that the council fulfils its duties and takes regard of the needs of local people.
