Dog Education, Awareness and Promotion

The Authority will be involved in the following promotional activities in relation to Dog Control.
  • Educational talks to schools, Parish Councils and other interested groups in relation to responsible dog ownership and noise.
  • Promotional Campaigns, local and regional
  • Promotion of the Harrogate Borough Council/Dogs Trust Microchipping Initiative offered as a greatly reduced or free service.

Cruelty to Animals (Who Should You Call)

If you suspect that an animal of any kind is being subjected to any form of cruelty then the only organisation that can legally deal with this is the Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). Contact the National Cruelty Helpline on 0870 5555 999.

If you want to report an aggressive dog then contact your local police station who will deal with your complaint.
