Is there any charge for using this service?

There is no charge if you pay with a debit card.

If you pay with a credit card, a surcharge of 1.2% will be added to the amount you pay. This covers what the Council is charged for the processing of your credit card payment.

How quickly will the payment reach my account?

Payments up to 4.30pm on a normal working day will appear on your account by the next working day.

How safe is this service?

Payments are made on a secure bank server belonging to the Council's Card Services Provider, Streamline E-Solutions (a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland).

Does the council store my credit card details?

No. Your card details will not be stored by the Council and they will not be visible or accessible outside the secure banking network.

What information will I need to supply?

The reference number for the item you wish to pay (this is printed on your invoice, bill or notice or on your rent smart card, so have this available). You may pay for up to 10 items in one transaction.

Your name and address, to verify your payment card details.

Will I receive a receipt?

After payment is complete, you can print a receipt, but it will also be emailed to you.

Does my computer need any special settings?

Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, or Mozilla Firefox, or Netscape 4.8 and above.

Other browsers have not been tested

JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled. The bank only uses temporary cookies while processing your payment.

Are there any computer use restrictions while making a payment?

Do not use the browser's back and forward buttons.

Do not press the 'PAY' button more than once.

Once you have pressed the 'PAY' button, be patient and allow the payment to complete.

Until you reach the point where you have entered your payment card details, you may safely abandon a payment by closing your browser. After that point, please be patient and wait for your payment to complete.
