Turkmen Lady 2006 by

We invited children along to help us recreate this painting of a Turkmen Lady, on show in our latest exhibition Beyond the Caspian Sea: Art from Turkmenistan.

Artist, Rachel Massey, drew a large-scale outline of the painting and cut up another into 'jigsaw' pieces for visitors to use collage and drawing materials to draw patterns inspired by the other works on show in the exhibition.

Children's recreation of 'Turkmen Lady 2006'
At the end of the day, we had this newly painted Turkmen lady, now on show!

This event was part of the Campaign for Drawing's national celebration 'The Big Draw'.
