The Merchant of Venice

Mercy and revenge are weighed in the balance in this dark comedy of love and intolerance.

To help his friend win a wife, a merchant accepts an interest-free loan in exhange for a pound of his own flesh, should he fail to repay in time.

Shylock, with the full authority of the Venetian law behind him, sharpens his knife in court.  But is he, in fact, the villain or the victim of this trial?  You, the audience, must be the judge.

Date and time: Wednesday 28th July, 7.30pm
