The Harrogate District Cultural Strategy
(2003-2008) was approved by the Council in January 2003. Our
vision is:
We have been keen to ensure that the strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community, and supports the efforts of all organisations involved in cultural provision in the District.
The Council is responsible for making the strategy
work, but working in partnership with other organisations is
increasingly important. A District Cultural Partnership has been
set up, offering the opportunity to bring on board the various
cultural sectors and representatives of voluntary organisations,
community groups and individuals involved in culture across the
District. The Partnership is supported by Harrogate Borough Council
and is currently working on reviewing the Cultural Strategy with a
view to producing a new strategy for 2009-2014.
Anyone interested in becoming involved in the Harrogate District Cultural Partnership or receiving more information should contact Les Williamson, Director of Community Services on 01423 556846 or use this link to submit the Enquiry Form
The District Cultural
Strategy is available as a pdf file (746kb). It is a 32-page
document which includes a number of photgraphs and may therefore
take a few minutes to open. If you have any difficulties or would
like to request a hard copy please contact Les
Williamson as above.
