Overview and Scrutiny in Harrogate District

 
Introduction to Overview and Scrutiny
 
Overview and Scrutiny is the process by which the Executive (Cabinet) is held to public account. This 'critical friend' challenge is an important role for non-executive members of the Council and is undertaken on behalf of the residents of the district. Council policy and issues of local concern are reviewed and local people can be involved in this process.
