Decoration Allowance
A decoration allowance is a payment that may be given to a tenant for one of the following reasons:
- You are a new tenant going into your new home
- Following major repairs or programmed works within their home e.g. substantial re-plastering
The Council decides how much the payment will be by calculating it on a room to room basis.
The decoration allowance is issued in a voucher form that tenants can exchange at Focus DIY, Skipton Road, New Park, Harrogate (n.b. this applies for goods classed only as decoration materials.) The voucher must be used within six months of issue.
