Harrogate Borough Council sign up to Small Business Friendly Concordat

Councillor Dr Mike Gardner (Leader of the Council) and Mr Michael Walsh (Chief Executive) signed up to the Small Business (SME) Friendly Concordat at the end of December 2005 on behalf of Harrogate Borough Council.

The Council's Corporate Procurement Group has used the Concordat's Good Practice Guide as part of its work to raise greater awareness amongst small firms and improve access to local authority contracts in particular through its website.

Additionally the Group are now distributing the "Smaller supplier... better value?" booklet and/or giving a website link to it for relevant purchasing officers in all the Council's departments.
