Submit Request for Scrutiny Review
Go straight to form Request for a
Review
You can submit a request for a scrutiny review to be undertaken
by the relevant overview and scrutiny commission. The issue
you believe should be investigated must affect residents
of this district. However, as commissions are able to
undertake external scrutiny reviews, the matter does
not necessarily have to relate to this council's
responsibilities and functions and can concern other local
authorities, government departments or, in fact, any
organisation.
What happens next?
- After you have submitted the form requesting a
scrutiny review, which is provided in the link below, the council's
Scrutiny Officer will contact you within 10 working
days.
- He may need to seek further information from you on your
request.
- The Scrutiny Officer will then submit your request to the
relevant scrutiny commission. You will be informed of the
date of the meeting when this will take place.
- The commission will decide whether it wishes, or is able, to
undertake the suggested review.
- If it agrees to do so, then it will be scheduled into the
commission's future work programme.
- You will be informed of the commission's decision and, if your
request has been successful, the Scrutiny Officer will keep you
fully informed of its progress.
