Private Rented Housing
From 6 April 2007, when you start a new tenancy with a private
landlord or letting agent and you pay a cash deposit, the landlord
or agent must protect your deposit using a Government authorised
tenancy deposit scheme.
Guidance for landlords, agents and tenants on how privately
rented housing conditions are inspected and assessed. Find out
about the new changes under the Housing Act 2004, coming into force
from 6 April 2006.
