@UK plc - Improvements To The Way We Do Business
Harrogate Borough Council along with the six
other North Yorkshire Districts and North Yorkshire County Council,
are in the process of implementing an e-procurement
strategy. The key feature of this will be a hosted web
site with a "shopping basket" facility. This
will enable our staff to electronically order the goods and
services required for the day to day running of our services from
our suppliers and will be our preferred method of doing
business.
Trading with us through this system may be a future
requirement in all appropriate contracts.
The ordering system is provided by our chosen e-commerce partner
@UKPLC, who provide a similar service to many other Local
Authorities as well as ourselves.
A key advantage to you of this system is that once you have
signed-up to it you can trade on the internet with:
- Us and other public sector organisations who use the
@UKPLC solution
- Other businesses
- Private individuals;
- In the UK
- In Europe
- Worldwide
Companies that are not already trading on-line will be able to
create an on-line catalogue with a shopping basket allowing them to
take orders through the internet. Larger companies that have
already invested in developing a web site with these facilities
will be able to link their existing web site to the system. This
will enable all of our suppliers to compete electronically as
equals.
