HIC at Yorkshire Show
10th July 2008
HIC's Tourism team took an even bigger stand this year at the
150th Great Yorkshire Show, the regions largest countryside
event, which was visited by HM The Queen, and The Duke of
Edinburgh.
Over the three day event earlier in July, over
126,000 visited the Show with gate figures and competitive entries
amongst the highest in the event's history.
The Tourism team handed out gift bags filled
with novelties, the latest entertainments What's On Guide, the
tourism Great Days Out Guide and the Area Tourism Partnership
brochure. Full of amazing facts about the Yorkshire Dales and
Harrogate, the brochure lists accommodation
providers from camp sites to 4-star hotels. Over 4,000 brochures
were distributed to the wide-ranging visitor profile.
Visitors to the stand were invited to enter a
prize draw to win tickets to the December Jake & Elwood
concert, the winning entry going to a Wakefield resident.
HIC will also be attending the Tockwith Show in
August, and the Nidderdale Show and Masham Sheep Fair in
September.
