LDF DPD Development Control Policies
This Consultation concluded on 29 February 2008
The Consultation documents were:
|
Review of local landscape
designations
(200kb PDF) and Appendices (3.6Mb)
We are undertaking a review of local landscape designations
(Special Landscape Areas and Green Wedges) around the District's
main settlements. The work so far suggests that most of the
existing designations should continue to be protected, however,
there are areas that need to be assessed
further.
|
Development limits
(7.9Mb)
Development and infill limits will be drawn around those
settlements within the District that have the best access to jobs,
houses and services to allow the sustainable growth and
development. Outside these limits the approach is to strictly
control new building in order to protect the
countryside. |

The documents below relate to an earlier consultation (on its
scoping Report) which took place in July/Sept 2007:
The Development Control Policies DPD will
guide and control development proposed through the submission of
planning applications.
A Public consultation on this DPD, and its Scoping Report,
took place over an 8 week period between Friday 20 July and Friday
14 September 2007. At this time the Council invited
the community and stakeholders to submit representations in
response to the policies and options set out in the Issues &
Options Consultation. Three public meetings were also held to
discuss the document and to answer any questions.
As the first stage in the Sustainability Appraisal of the
Development Control Policies DPD the Council has prepared a Scoping
Report. It assesses the environmental, economic and social
impact of the Development Control Policies DPD.
