Ripon TIC has achieved an outstanding 97% in this year's Yorkshire wide Mystery Shopper exercise, equivalent to a GCSE A Star grade.

 

Organised by Yorkshire Tourist Board, every Tourist Information Centre in Yorkshire receives a personal visit, an email enquiry and up to two telephone calls to assess the quality of customer service visitors to the region can expect.

 

Ripon TIC's high score places them in the top 20 Visitor Centres in Yorkshire.

 

Last year Ripon TIC handled over 21,000 visitor enquiries.

 

The Visitor Service Officer team at Ripon, was praised by the assessor for having "a wealth of knowledge... and an obvious love of the area", and as  "a warm, friendly and keen representative for Yorkshire tourism".

 

 

In 2007 Ripon TIC handled over 21,000 enquiries, and makes an average of 350 bed bookings per year. With a staff team of 3 the TIC deals with enquiries from across the country from people intending to visit the area. From the local perspective, the most popular destination enquiries are for the Lake District, Scotland and Northumberland.

 

The Tourist information Centre on Minster Road, is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to1pm, when a member of the team is always on hand to give information and advice to visitors and local residents.
