This is a proposal to develop a rural 'Entrepreneurship Centre' or rural busines centre to take people of all ages who are looking to build their own business in some form of trade (electricialn, plumber etc) or business service. This project links together the rural, skills and enterprise agendas.
A Feasibility Study into the Centre of Rural Enterprise (CoRE), carried out by Skills Strategy Research, concluded that, at least in the short term, the CoRE as originally envisaged should not be taken forward for development (i.e. in terms of a new physical centre or independent service).
Despite this, the study recognised that the function of CoRE has merit and so recommended that the possibility of aligning it to other emerging programmes.
Yore Vision and Boroughbridge High School are now beginning to explore potential relationships with other emerging projects and programmes that are being developed by potential key players (i.e. Leeds Met, Craven College, Askham Bryan, York St John, LSC, the Rural Academy etc).
