Get involved

You can directly contribute to local charity work, helping with local good causes and local issues. Many of these are represented in the Harrogate & Area Council for Voluntary Service.

For local opportunities to volunteer:

Harrogate Round Table
Harrogate and District Round Table is all about having fun with a group of friends while at the same time helping the local community. We raise about £40,000 a year all given to local worthy causes both large and small. Most of the money is raised by the Harrogate Fireworks display on the Stray, the annual beer festival and a summer walk or cycle ride.
Rotary Club of Harrogate

The Rotary Club of Harrogate has a record of over 80 years' continuous service to the town's wider community. Amongst its many current enterprises is the servicing of 22 flats provided for elderly people of limited means (Flower Fund Homes) and the organisation of the annual Nidderdale Walk which raises about £30,000 for local charities. In this, our centenary year, we hope to attract over 100 charities to our walk.

Harrogate Lions Club

The Harrogate Lions Club raise money for hospital equipment, and minibuses, office equipment and furnishings for local voluntary organisations. They also deliver newspapers around the hospital wards at weekends, and provide emergency packs for patients who may have been admitted in an emergency and find themselves temporarily without toiletries. They also provide soft toys to children admitted into hospital.

They also provide outings and holidays for the aged, handicapped and deprived youth. They also help people after a fire. And collect, assemble and distributing food parcels and children's toys at Christmas.

Little Red Bus Community Transport

Little Red Bus is an independent voluntary organisation providing accessible transport to anyone in Harrogate district.
