The Harrogate District Safer Communities
Partnership is made up of a number of agencies including the
Police, Police Authority, Councils, Fire Service and the Primary
Care Trust. In addition to these statutory bodies other
organisations including Harrogate Alcohol and Drugs Agency,
Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust and Voluntary Sector
groups are involved in reducing crime and disorder in our
district.
Our Vision
Our vision is to maintain and improve the quality of life within
the community, ensuring that people across the Harrogate District
feel safe and not threatened by crime and disorder or other anti
social behaviour.
Our Partnership Plan
Our Partnership Plan covers the period April 2008 - March 2011. It
has been developed following legislative changes brought in under
the Crime and Disorder Act Review 2006 and will be reviewed
annually.
Our plan sets out the expectations of the Harrogate District
Safer Communities Partnership - what we will deliver over the next
three years, the resources available, how performance will be
measured and will act as one of the mechanisms to communicate to
local people. It builds on our analysis of crime and disorder and
sets the following priorities.
Safer Neighbourhoods
We will continue working together delivering safer neighbourhoods
by tackling anti social and unacceptable behaviour.
Crime
The aim of our safer communities partnership is to reduce violent
crime and domestic violence across the Harrogate District.
Safer Roads
Although levels of road traffic collisions are low we continue to
work towards reducing them by raising awareness about how to be
safe on our roads.
Alcohol and Substance Misuse
Our focus will be on reducing the harm caused by binge drinking and
substance misuse.
The full Partnership Plan can be viewed via the link in the
column to the right. It takes our priorities forward and identifies
the ways in which they will be delivered.
