Department of Corporate Policy & Improvement
In order for the council to achieve significant improvement it has established this new department under a major restructure, which took place on 1 April 2005.
Under the leadership of Simon Johnson, the department will develop and assist the authority to deliver an agreed Improvement Plan and will operate as an internal consultancy resource for the council.
It will not provide direct services to the public but it will lead the development and implementation of corporate management systems and major change initiatives to ensure that the council operates effectively and efficiently.
As well as providing advice and support for councillors and staff, the department will also be responsible for:
