The scheme allows you to search for any journeys you want to share as a driver or a passenger. This can be anything from your daily commute to a one-off trip to an event.
Once you have registered, you can search for someone to share with and contact them to arrange a lift.
Harrogate Car Share is linked to the national LiftShare scheme so you can search for journeys in any part of the country.
Car sharers agree between themselves how to share the cost – maybe by offering 10 pence per mile or doing the driving on alternate trips. However you don’t have to own a car to sign up: you can simply search for a lift if that is what you need.
The benefits are clear: you can save fuel and money, cut congestion and reduce CO2 emissions.
The Harrogate Car Share website is secure and fully complies with the Data Protection Act. Other members will only be able to see your first name, gender, age-range and journey.
