Why do we sample?
In order to protect public health, we sample food and drink (including water) that is supplied, produced and sold in the Harrogate District. This is done through a planned sampling programme to assess microbiological quality in order to improve standards and where necessary take appropriate action.

Response to complaints
We may sample in response to complaints or as part of an investigation of an outbreak of food related illness.
