The project lasts for a year and has many aspects:

Relic
Objects from museums in each English region are part of the wider A History of the World project.
In this region, York and North Yorkshire, 2 of the 10 featured objects to launch the project are from Harrogate museums' collection and on show at the
Royal Pump Room Museum. These are:
Ancient Egyptian Anubis Mask
The Anubis mask was worn over 2000 years ago by a priest during the mummification process.
It is one of only three surviving masks made for the living and the only one allowing the wearer to speak.
Fabergée cufflinks from Czarist Russia
The
Fabergée cufflinks, gold and
in shape of the Imperial Russian Eagle set with diamonds and sapphires, were given to Harrogate boy Nicholas Allen as a confirmation present in 1910 from his godmother the Czarina of Russia.
