Harrogate Borough Council is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults who we come into contact with through the services we provide.
We have a Safeguarding Policy which sets out what staff should do if they have concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult, and how we work with our partner agencies to ensure that we protect children and vulnerable adults.
If you are worried that a child or young person is at risk of harm then you should contact the emergency services or North Yorkshire County Council, telephone 0845 8727374 (you will pay the cost of the call plus any network extras) or email email@example.com without delay.
If you're worried about a child you can also get in touch with the NSPCC Helpline, 0808 800 5000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can contact the helpline about any aspect of a child's safety or wellbeing. Callers can remain anonymous if they want to. Some parents call for advice about the best thing to do for their child, other people have seen something that they feel uneasy about and just want to talk to someone. This may lead to the matter being referred to North Yorkshire County Council or the Police for them to take it further.
