Bins, recycling and waste

Disruption to refuse and recycling collections

Update: Monday 18 January at 8.40am

The recent bad weather had an impact on our refuse and recycling collections across the district.

Collections of refuse and recycling due from today (Monday 18 January) onwards are taking place as normal. Please make sure your household waste or recycling is ready for collection on its scheduled day.

We have dedicated crews working to catch-up with collections that were missed in the weeks beginning 4 and 11 January:

Refuse collections

Some household waste collections are still outstanding. Where we can, we will do our best to get to these this week (commencing 18 January). If your refuse bin wasn’t emptied in the week beginning 11 January, please leave it out.  If your bin is full, please leave any side waste out for collection so we can take it away.

Recycling collections

Unfortunately, any recycling that was still outstanding at the end of Friday 15 January will not be collected until your next scheduled recycling collection date. If this means you will have extra recycling materials by the time of your next scheduled collection date, please leave them out in a carrier bag or open box. Please do not put recycling in a black refuse sack.

We know you rely on us to collect refuse and recycling, but the health and safety of our crews, and that of other road users, has to be our first priority.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
