How can I upgrade my Broadband connection?
Firstly, to find information on availability and identify service providers in your area, enter your postcode on the Superfast North Yorkshire website. If fibre broadband is already in your area, there may be a number of providers who can offer it to you. A number of these are listed on Superfast North Yorkshire website, with links which will take you directly to their web sites so you can find out if they are up and running where you live.
If there is no current/planned availability if your area, please register your interest with the service providers below:
Boundless (previously LN Communications) have used wireless technologies to build a network that can supply and extend from a dense urban environment, to small towns and villages and then reach out to the many sparsely populated areas within their coverage area. They are particularly active across the rural west of the district and recent investment has improved their network capacity/performance.
Better Broadband Service
The Government has committed to giving access to 2Mbps download speed to every premises in the UK. As part of this commitment, Local Bodies in conjunction with Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) are making available the option of a subsidised broadband installation for eligible premises. This provides support towards a better broadband service for a first year cost of no more than £400 (taking account of any up front costs and the 12 month service charges). The subsidised installation can also be used to access higher cost packages with higher speeds or greater monthly data caps. You will be able to choose a service from any of the retail service providers that are part of the scheme, each of which will be offering a variety of packages.
You will only be eligible if your premises does not have access to speeds of more than 2Mbps.
