The small transport grants fund for the Harrogate district - now closed for applications
We have awarded funds of up to £5,000 to successful bidders for the small transport grants fund. The fund was available for communities, businesses and groups across the district to support the delivery of small, community led, projects relating to sustainable transport measures.
We allocated £30,000 to support community led initiatives to improve access to sustainable transport for the community at a cost of up to £5,000 each. With this fund we have been able to support 11 projects across the district with programmes that will see cycle paths resurfaced, secure cycle storage installed and promotion of park and cycle schemes.
There were some innovative and creative projects put forward and we look forward to seeing them come to fruition over the next 12 months and having a positive impact on the trend towards sustainable transport methods. We are determined to improve the sustainability and cleanliness of transport solutions in the district in an effort to improve air quality and bring down carbon emissions. The small transport grants fund is part of a package of measures designed to encourage shifts in behaviour and encourage people out of their cars.
