The UCI Road World Championships are coming to Yorkshire

Yorkshire is gearing up to host one of the world's premier cycling events - the UCI Road World Championships – which take place from 21 until 29 September 2019.

Harrogate is the 'host town' for the championships and will be the focus of the entire event.  All races will finish in the town and eight of the races will use a Harrogate 'inner circuit' route. Ripon has been chosen as a start location and races will pass through Knaresborough, Boroughbridge, Pateley Bridge and Masham.

UCI general information for businesses

Businesses are being encouraged to get behind the UCI Road World Championships when they come to the region in September. To help people take advantage of the event we have created a series of guidance sheets that answer the most common questions, such as setting up a temporary campsite or café.

Businesses that would like to see official merchandise should contact the official merchandise supplier Paul Goldsmith at paul@eventmerch.com.

We're encouraging residents, spectators, businesses and communities to get involved with the championships, by showing their support and Yorkshire pride to make this event one to remember for the millions watching on TV and those visiting Yorkshire. You can do this by using the Welcomes the World logo which is free to download and use for promotional purposes. You can download files in all formats by visiting resources.harrogateconventioncentre.co.uk/HWTW-4.pdf?mtime=20190112102025.

The UCI branding must not be copied or recreated by anyone, anywhere.

Several promotional videos have been produced by Yorkshire 2019 and are available to use:

Route maps can be downloaded as a PDF to give to visitors.

There are no restrictions on showing live BBC or red button coverage of the racing within shops, pubs or businesses as long as you have a valid TV licence. Anyone showing content on a big screen requires a public entertainment licence. Any plans for big screens should be shared with us as early as possible.

As with the 'Yellow Book' for the Tour de France, organisers Yorkshire 2019 will be producing a 'Rainbow Book' with facts and information about all the places the race route passes through. If you have information you think is relevant please email commsandengagement@harrogate.gov.uk.
