Household waste recycling centres allow you to get rid of household and garden waste, apart from anything that might be hazardous or need special treatment.

The centres are managed by North Yorkshire County Council.

Sometimes, charges may apply. All residents have to pay to dispose of hardcore, rubble, plasterboard and tyres.

There are three centres in the Harrogate district:

  • Harrogate Household Waste Recycling Centre, Wetherby Road, Harrogate
  • Ripon Household Waste Recycling Centre, Dallamires Crescent, Dallamires Lane, Ripon
  • West Harrogate Household Waste Recycling Centre, Penny Pot Lane, Harrogate.

More information on household waste recycling centres is available on the North Yorkshire County Council website.

Trade/Commercial waste

Responsibility for disposing of trade/commercial waste lies with the business owner. North Yorkshire County Council provides sites at Harrogate (Stonefall) and Northallerton (Yafforth Road). Alternatively we can collect your trade waste.
