Our sports development team is keen to support the development of the district's clubs, helping them achieve their potential to provide a high-quality, safe and enjoyable environment for their members.
We can offer advice and support about club accreditation and clubmark, coach education, business planning, policies and procedures for child protection, marketing, and support with school club links, volunteers, constitutions, risk assessments and funding sources.
This is Sport England's one-stop shop for sports clubs. Club Matters provides free, convenient, practical resources to help you develop and run a sustainable club.
With information on club finances, fundraising and budgeting, club management, marketing, workshops and mentoring, CASC, clubmark accreditation and lots more, the Club Matters website can help you develop your club to be the best it can be.
National governing bodies
NGBs can offer invaluable advice to local clubs, and very often funding providers will also ask for confirmation that your NGB is aware of your project and is supporting you. So it's always worth getting in touch with your local officer.
To find out how to contact your governing body, please visit North Yorkshire Sport to find contact details and further information.
Club accreditation and Clubmark
Many national governing bodies have a club accreditation scheme, usually Clubmark or a similar scheme. Clubs that have achieved accreditation are recognised nationally as being high quality, and we would always recommend these clubs first to potential new members.
How we can help
If you looking at developing your club, our project planning guide will help you develop a good project plan. Our sports development team has successfully supported several local clubs through the club accreditation process.
