The corporate performance panel manages and monitors council performance.
- monitors performance within the council, including monitoring corporate action plans and using finance and performance indicators
- uses strategic targets so the council can continue to improve
- makes sure that the council's work is value for money and that there are no duplicated efforts
- reports to the overview and scrutiny commission with proposals of action when it finds items of concern
The panel will be expected to focus upon initiatives of performance, or where a particular indicator is suggesting performance and resource issues of significance. The performance panel should initially report to the overview and scrutiny commission in the first instance with, if it considers appropriate, proposals for action.
