Visit the Castle and grounds this half term to get up close with nature.

Pick up a backpack or trail to explore the creatures, plants and trees found around the Castle site.

Have a go at the craft activities in the museum.

Take home a planting pack start your own growing or a craft box to create bug boxes and art inspired by the natural world (small charge for these take home resources).


Knaresborough Bed Race

Enjoy the build-up to the Knaresborough Bed Race which starts from the castle grounds. See the decorated beds and costumed crews as the judging for the best dressed beds gets underway before the big race.


Civil War in Knaresborough

See the Castle, sallyport and museum for just £2 for adults and concessions and £1 per child

A spectacular experience from the days of the English Civil War, as re-enactors from the Sir Thomas Glemham’s Regiment of the Sealed Knot Society create a living history village with cameos of 17th century life. Let us transport you back to a time when the sights and sounds of musket and pike drills, cannon and firing guns filled the Knaresborough air.

A special day discovering the weapons and weak spots that were used to attack Knaresborough Castle in the past. Make your own weapons and take a tour to attack the ramparts!

Join us for spooky happenings at Knaresborough Castle in October half term. Each day you can enjoy crafts and trails, discover our ghostly guests in the castle grounds, and take part Treacherous Trials in our interactive courtroom drama. Your ticket includes the secret underground tunnel, dungeon and museum too!

Monday 29 October until Friday 2 November 2018 - book one of our Pungent Potions workshops and look out for details of our Ghostly Gander walks to discover the ghosts of the Castle and town.
