You must apply/hold a licence from us if you take a dog/s into your home for any length of time in return for payment, this may include dog walkers. Please contact licensing for further clarification.

Existing licence holders and anyone planning to apply for a licence should also read the Animal Welfare (licensing of activities involving animals) Regulations 2018.

Apply for a licence

In order to make an application, you must fill out one of the following forms:

Boarding application - application fee £134.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £64.00
Boarding renewal - application fee £134.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £39.00
Boarding variation - application fee £83.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £25.00
Home boarding application - application fee £117.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £25.00
Home boarding renewal - application fee £66.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £25.00
Home boarding variation - application fee £83.00 / ongoing administration and enforcement £25.00
Veterinary inspection is the actual cost

You must then send the form to us with the appropriate fee, giving 28 days notice.
