Our apprenticeship programme means you can learn while you earn as you combine study with practical on-the-job training. Apprenticeships are also a great way to gain the qualifications you'll need to progress your career.
An apprenticeship with Harrogate Borough Council gives you valuable work experience and develops your skills. You'll work alongside experienced members of staff and benefit from their professional skills.
As well as earning a salary, you'll get paid holidays.
Here's what two of our previous apprentices say about our apprenticeship programme:
"I found the business administration apprenticeship an excellent way to gain valuable knowledge and a vocational qualification. As this was my first full time job in a large organisation, the course gave me a really useful insight to why certain things like policies are in place and the importance of business fundamentals and skills such project management. The topics, skills and behaviours I have covered are very relatable to my job and will be very transferable in any future job roles I have. My manager was very supportive of my apprenticeship and is flexible with fitting my apprenticeship work around my day to day role." (Harry)
"Working as an apprentice lifeguard at a swimming pool has allowed me to complete my training practically rather than classroom based, which I did not enjoy whilst being at school. It has also given me lots of opportunities to progress my qualification such as completing my levels one and two swimming teaching. I now run regular classes that I teach every week and really enjoy it. If you are like me and enjoy learning whilst being practical, then I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship for you." (Jordan)
