Caravan and camping site licences

For a caravan site, first contact our planning department at, or call 01423 500600, as you may need planning permission.

If you allow your land to be used as a camping site by the public for more than 42 days consecutively, or 60 days in a year, you need a licence from us.

For more guidance on whether or not you need a licence, read the caravan and camping site exemptions and conditions.

Apply for a licence

Fill in the Caravan and Camping Site licence application form and send it to us. There's no fee. You must have planning permission before you apply for the licence. The application should be accompanied by a site plan, showing the layout of roads, caravans and facilities. If successful, you should receive your licence within 60 days.
